Join the Michigan Centennial Farm Association
Your centennial farm is one of approximately 6,000 certified since the Michigan Historical Commission began recognizing centennial farms in 1948. Through this program, the State of Michigan emphasizes the important contributions farmers have made to economic, social, educational and cultural advancement of Michigan.
Once a farm receives certification, the owner is qualified to become a member of the Michigan Centennial Farm Association.
The purposes of the Association are to promote the Centennial Farm Program; to encourage the development of rural life in Michigan; to promote the history of local communities; and to carry out education programs in cooperation with farmers' organizations and other institutions.
The Association serves as an information channel for centennial farm families. It publishes a quarterly newsletter, holds an annual meeting and sponsors a number of regional events. In addition, a scholarship fund has been established, offering educational assistance for members of centennial farm families.
